Standing on Place Carnot in the second arrondissement of Lyon since March 2017, Accasbel Bistropub is proudly both an Irish pub and French bistro. Blending the cultures in a warm and very welcoming ambiance, Accasbel serves craft beer direct from Ireland with bistro-style food.

As a Franco-Irish couple, when they created Accasbel Bistropub owners Maud and Darragh aimed to import all of the flavour and atmosphere one would expect to find in Ireland to Lyon, while maintaining the sophistication and style of a classic French bistro.

Beer is king in this spacious “bistropub”. Composed of a 90 m² main room with 5 metre high ceilings, large panels and wooden bar with its signature 16 classic copper beer taps, Accasbel has real character.

Food

Accasbel offers bistro-style cuisine, which includes some high-quality Irish ingredients, notably Black Angus beef and cheddar cheese matured with brown ale. The menu is simple, but of a very high standard.

A set menu and plat du jour are available during the week, and expert advice on beer and food pairings are proposed by Maud, Darragh and team.

Brunch is served on Saturday from 12.00pm until 3:00pm. As might be expected, the full Irish breakfast is available. Other options include Eggs Florentine, Benedict or Norwegian; pancakes, a ‘French Basket’, and granola.

Drink

Accasbel is the ideal destination for beer enthusiasts; it serves only craft beers that have been imported from micro-breweries in Ireland. Sixteen beers are available on tap at any given time, together with a number of bottled drinks. The selection regularly changes as new, seasonal, and limited edition beers are introduced. Lagers, IPAs, red ales, stouts, porters, among others, can be found.

For non-beer drinkers, the bar is fully stocked with wine and spirits with a particular focus on Irish whiskey.

Live Sport

A huge screen provides coverage of major football and rugby matches together with Gaelic games direct from Ireland. As Darragh is a former player and keen rugby enthusiast himself, the atmosphere in Accasbel is particularly good when Ireland are playing during the Six Nations tournament!
